The Benefits of Going "Grass-Fed"It has been noted that red meat from animals that graze outdoors produce more heart-healthy polyunsaturated fatty acids in their meat than animals that are factory raised. Why is this important to your health and skin care? Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids, or Essential Fatty Acids (EFA), are the building blocks for the production of healthy cell walls. They are also essential in the production of the skin’s natural oil barrier, which is essential for keeping the skin hydrated, plump and looking younger. If your diet is lacking enough Essential Fatty Acids, your skin could experience dryness and inflammation, as well as becoming prone to whiteheads and blackheads.

So, next time you are considering in looking to have some red meat for dinner, look for labels that read “pasture-fed” or “grass-fed.” Your body will thank you for it.
