So we are going to learn how some skin can be lifted with Dr. Anil Shah’s neck contouring procedure as opposed to neck liposuction. So here you see a straight line from the patient’s chin to the bottom of the neck. This represents a straight line. When Dr. Shah makes a deeper neck contouring change, he actually creates a triangle. If you imagine the straight line from the original neck and can now see the two limbs of the triangle, the question is the new 2 lines longer than the original straight line.
Well there is a fundamental law in Geometry called the triangle inequality theorem. According to the first triangle inequality theorem, the lengths of any two sides of a triangle must add up to more than the length of the third side. This means our two new sides must be longer in all circumstances than the original side.
So who cares about a Triangle theorem? You do because your neck is now longer and has a larger surface area, some of your extra neck skin laxity can redrape along your neck.
If you hate math, you probably did not make it this far but if you did, we give you an A!!! The main message here is that neck contouring is anatomic, scientific and even mathematical when performed by an expert surgeon such as Dr. Anil Shah. Don’t worry we won’t ask you any math questions.
