Plastic Surgery in 2020 & Beyond – “Where Do You See Facial Plastics In Ten Years?”
Facial Plastics is going to be changing in the upcoming decade. Whether we’re looking at the latest and greatest surgical techniques or the patient recovery experience, the new decade is full of changes and we can’t wait to tell you all about them!
Advancement in Equipment
The world of facial plastics has finally put away the outdated techniques and swapped in new and improved ones for better results. The old approach which many surgeons use is the chisel and hammer. Updates in the decade will likely lead to more surgeons using specialized and precise equipment. Currently, in my practice I use a specialized device that allows direct visualization of nasal bones so that precise modification can take place.
Advanced Facelift Techniques
Facelifting will also likely be advanced in the upcoming decade. Surprisingly, many surgeons in are are still using the skin-pulling strategy with their facelifts, which leads to longer recovery times and a pulled look. I have updated this to allow actually lifting the muscle in the neck. The newest technique involves treating the deep neck areas which are usually neglected which includes muscle and fat creating better jawlines and natural results.
Quicker Recovery Times
In the upcoming decade, patients will be asking for the quickest recovery possible. As a surgeon in Chicago, we are always in search of the fastest possible recovery for our patients. The sooner they feel better, we are happier! Given that human nature is still a force of its own, we have been able to design a new way for the human body to heal. Shah Aesthetics in Chicago has designed a state-of-the-art recovery room for patients to receive the best results possible. Red Light therapy, heated recovery chairs, and aroma therapies are just the beginning of designing a recovery room that doesn’t feel like, well, a recovery room. Rather than waiting years following rhinoplasty or several months post-facelift, we’re putting the long road to recovery behind us and embrace the upcoming new year filled with smooth healing and happy endings. The advancement of surgical techniques and simulated patient recovery rooms will create better results than ever before. Please stay tuned as we embrace our decade of change.
