Addressing Intimate Health Concerns in Women: A Comprehensive Approach

Aging is an issue for many people, especially for women. Many suffer with issues of their genitalia due to factors related to childbirth or menopause such as laxity, dryness, urinary incontinence or changes in the appearance of the outer genitalia These changes not only affect women but also their partners and subsequently their intimate health. Due to pain or decreased sensation women can lose interest in intimacy which can then lead to frustration for both the patient and their partners.

Empowering Women: Modern Solutions for Intimate Health

These issues are often found to be embarrassing to talk about because there hasn’t been a real outlet to discuss them and the treatments were not appealing to most women. Solutions for female genitalia issues often resorted to daily exercises (kegels), hormone therapy or invasive surgery. The exercises need daily effort and commitment and hormone therapy (creams or pills) are messy and pose risks for clotting and breast cancer. Surgery can only address some issues either internal or external and with any surgery carry certain risks. Surgery can also present problems like infections and there is also an associated recovery time.

Female Rejuvenation G-Spot Injection

We are happy to introduce the non-invasive alternative for Vaginal Rejuvenation called, Votiva. This device employs the use of radiofrequency technology to help treat both the internal and external areas of the vagina. The device works by releasing thermal energy to increase blood flow and stimulate collagen and elastin production. The device also has a tightening feature to help with laxity issues. Votiva utilizes two different handpieces to address all the issues of laxity, dryness, urinary incontinence while improving satisfaction for both the woman and her partner. The external appearance can also be addressed with both handpieces to improve the deflation also associated with aging and childbirth. The procedure if very safe and effective with minimal downtime and most patients will see an improvement after the first of three sessions.

Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS), Vaginal Laxity and Laser Vaginal Tightening

VRS is a generalized laxity of the vaginal canal and opening. This looseness can cause decreased sensation and responsiveness during intimacy and cause a decline in satisfaction. The most common cause of VRS is an age related decrease in estrogen, decrease in blood flow and a loss of supporting tissue which in turn leads to diminished muscular tone, thickness and therefore sensation. This condition can also happen in younger women following multiple childbirths and traumatic deliveries causing tears. VRS can also happen after treatment of some female cancers where the effect of estrogen has been blocked. The nonsurgical treatment options available for VRS include Forma-V, Fractora-V and V-Tite. These minimally to noninvasive devices use a radiofrequency energy to improve the symptoms of laxity, dryness, pain/discomfort, incontinence and satisfaction with intimacy and coitus.

Vulovaginal Atrophy Treatment and Genitourinary Symptoms of Menopause (GSM)

This is a condition caused by a decline of estrogen as a result of peri/postmenopause or the decrease of estrogen following chemotherapy and cancer treatment. The result is a diminished blood flow to the vagina, less cell turnover and thus less vaginal secretions. This causes vaginal dryness, inflammation and pain. The atrophy is associated with discharge, problems with lubrication, and can lead to painful intercourse. There can also be urinary symptoms such as painful urination (dysuria), stress incontinence and discomfort associated with this condition.

Aging of the Labia, Vulva, and Vagina

As women age there is a change in pigmentation either hyper or hypopigmentation with a loss of volume of the external genitalia. There is also a looseness and decrease supporting tissue to the Labia Majora and Minora which can be concerning to women aesthetically.

G-Spot Injection

The G-spot injection places a filler such as Juvederm or Restylane into the anterior region of the vaginal vault where there is a density of sensory endings thought to be responsible for increased sexual gratification and stimulation during intimacy. The G-shot injection will last for about 9-12 or more and need to be repeated every 9-16m.
