There are several unique aspects about Webconsult.  First of all, Dr. Shah personally reviews each set of pictures.  He feels that although time consuming, it does help screen patients to see if they are a candidate for surgery or not.  Due to the high volume of emails, Dr. Shah and his staff can not gurantee an immediate response to every email, but typical turnaround time is within 24 hours.  In addition, there is no charge for webconsults.  This is important for patients from afar seeking a surgical inquiry.  Dr. Shah understands that for many patients from afar including India, Europe, Asia, Middle East or parts of the United States, that a trip for a consultation may represent a considerable expense in time.  As a service for these patients, Dr. Shah will provide feedback to help determine if the patient is a candidate and if they agree with Dr. Shah's philosophy. 

If patients from afar feel comfortable with the level of feedback, you may elect to schedule a consultation and surgery on the same trip. Alternatively, a consultation can be scheduled and surgery can be scheduled on separate trips if the patient desires.

All patients will be examined thoroughly prior to any surgical intervention with Dr. Shah. It is possible that Dr. Shah will have a different surgical opinion once examined in person.

There is no charge for web consultation. Dr. Shah recommends 4 high quality photographs (frontal view, lateral view on each side, and base view) for his prospective patients.

How much recovery time will I need?

Most procedures require one week in the Chicago area. 

Do I need medical clearance from my doctor?

Any medical problems should be evaluated by a primary care physician with a medical clearance letter. Lab work can be arranged same day of procedure at no charge for patients.

Will your office arrange for housing?

We have a wide range in housing which we can suggest. Due to the high volume of out of state patients we have hotel specials for our patients.  Our office can arrange details for our patients

Will I have to see Dr. Shah again after surgery?

It depends on the procedure.  Dr. Shah embraces technology and is one of the only surgeon who perfoms digital followups.  For patients located halfway across the world, Dr. Shah has determined that digital followup is better than not receiving feedback on how the patient is healing and improving.  A brief summary of digital followup entails taking a series of pictures during the recovery process and discussing the healing process with Dr. Shah.

Will I receive a price estimate prior to my arrival?
