What is Latisse?
Latisse solution is a pharmaceutical compound called bimatoprost ophtalmic solution 0.03%. It has been shown to treat eyelashes to make them grow longer thicker and darker.

How does Latisse actually work?
Latisse increases the growing phase of the hair follicle (anagen) and it increases the number of hairs in growth phase. It is actually a prostamide used to treat ocular hypertension and glaucoma.
How long does it take for Latisse to work?
It typically takes about 2 months.
Is there anything else out there for longer thicker lashes?
There are two agents which work to increase lash growth, prostaglandins such as travoprost and latanoprost and prostamides such as bimatoprost (Latisse). Several other companies have used prostaglandins to increase eyelash growth including Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash, Revitalash and MD Lash Factor. Jan Marini has reformulated Age Intervention Eyelash because it did contain bimatoprost as well.
What are the side effects of Latisse?
Per Allergan, the side effects of Latisse include blurred vision, redness of eyelids, discoloration of eyelashes, discomfort.

Who should not use Latisse?
Patients with glaucoma, hypertension of the eye, or at risk for increased intraocular pressure should be monitored closely. Latisse may make the other medications less effective.
How do I use Latisse?
1. Clean face, makeup.
2. If wearing contact lenses remove
3. Place Latisse on applicator and apply to junction of eyelid skin and eyelash. (USE ONLY ON UPPER EYELIDS) Go from inner part of eye to outer.
4. Blot any excessive solution beyond eyelid margin
5. Dispose of eyelid applicator
Can I buy Latisse without a prescription?
Latisse requires the use of a prescription and physican evaluation prior to it use. Most physician offices will charge a competitive rate (less than pharmacy rate) and offer discount to free consultation for purchase of product. The office will teach patients proper application with purchase of product as well.
When can I use Latisse after a Blepharoplasty?
Latisse can irritate the skin around the eye, we recommend waiting at least two week before starting Latisse.
