Indian Otoplasty

Indians and Pakistanis are seeking more and more plastic surgery. One area that they are looking for plastic surgery more and more is ear reshaping or otoplasty.  Otoplasty involves reshaping the ears so that the ear looks less prominent.  The first otoplasty was described by Sushruta in 800 BC.  He is also known as the father of plastic surgery. Indians in ancient time would often have their nose or ears amputated as part of a punishment.  He was able to reconstruct the ear or nose.
