Comment on Facelifts as Featured in "I Feel Bad About My Neck By Nora Epron"

More and more patients are seeking facial rejuvenation. Patients want the outside to reflect how they feel on the inside. However, when it comes down to it, there are really limited options on how a person can look better. Many patients seek the latest antiaging creams and lotions or even try some noninvasive techniques. However, the expense and lack of compelling results has led to unsatisfaction.

Nora Ephron, the author of I Feel Bad About My Neck, commented on how every women feels bad about her neck and that the only solution is a facelift. She decided not to have a facelift ultimately because she did not want to look like she walked into a wind tunnel. She also did not want a prolonged recovery and wanted to look good right away.

Nora, like many people considering a facelift, have the same reservations about a facelift. First of all, no one wants to look artificial. People want to look like themselves, only better. Second of all, no one wants a prolonged recovery and a host of complications.

Dr. Shah has helped create a customized approach to the aging face. His technique is different than many of the lunchtime facelifts or minilifts. He uses what he calls a natural super lift. Dr. Shah uses a targeted approach to lift the underlying sagging tissues to a more youthful configuration. He does not do a one lift fits all approach. Every neck and face has different concerns so he customizes his lift for each patient.

By lifting the tissue in a natural alignment, Dr. Shah creates natural looking faces. He does not like or create the windtunnel look or Joan Rivers look.

Another key component of Shah's lift is to reduce the recovery period of traditional lifts. Many of these lifts have weeks maybe months of recovery in store. Most of Dr. Shah's patients are out in public within a week, many returning to work.

Cost of Facelift

The current state of the economy has left many patients with a catch 22. They want to look younger to be able to compete in the ever competitive work force. On the other hand, many patients do not want to spend the additional money on looking younger.

Traditionally speaking, a facelift has always been thought to be a procedure for the highly affluent. However, economics have allowed a facelift to become a reality for more and more patients. Financing allows patients to gradually pay off procedures over a period of time. This allows some patients the ability to afford procedures which they may not have been able to in the past.  Dr. Shah sees a wide range of patients from socialites to working moms.
