Facial Scarring
Facial scarring can occur as a result of trauma or previous surgery. Dr. Shah uses his profound aesthetic experience to help improve facial scars. For some scars, Dr. Shah will reposition them into a better location. For other scars, he will need to excise and recreate an improved facial scar. Dr. Shah uses multimodality therapy for facial scars to give the best possible outcome. He uses a variety of advanced techniques to make scars less noticeable.
A poor facial scar can be a result of tissue mismatch (an elevated or depressed scar), color mismatch (too dark or too light), poor position (may run in direction opposite facial relaxation lines) or other reasons. Some patients have a propensity to form hypertrophic scars or keloids. For these patients, may need specific post procedure details to improve appearance of scars.
